What is a nakshatra (birth star)?

They are listed in the Vedas themselves and have been in continuous use since Vedic times. Each nakshatra has its own name with a meaning, its own symbol, its own ruling deity, and its own qualities. The Moon and the Sun keep moving apart and coming together. Every time the gap between them grows by 12 degrees, one lunar day passes. That day is called a tithi. There are 30 tithis in a lunar month. There are 15 while the Moon brightens, called Shukla Paksha, and 15 while it fades, called Krishna Paksha. Tithi is one of the five limbs of the Hindu calendar, the Panchanga. For ages, tithis have been used to find the right moments, the muhurta, for weddings, journeys, and festivals. In CosmicSync, your half at birth, bright or dark, joins your nakshatra to decide your bird.

We take what is useful from Western astrology. Your daily windows come from Pancha Pakshi, the elemental astrology of the Tamil Siddhas. Everything is calculated exactly from your date, time, and place of birth.

In Jyotish, a kundali is a representation of a person's life in the form of a chart. It is the map of the sky at the moment of birth. The chart has twelve houses, and each house governs one area of life. The planets are placed among these houses. Pancha means five. Pakshi means birds. The ancient Tamil Siddhas taught that the whole universe is made of five elements, and that we are made of the same five elements. They gave each element the form of a bird. The element you are born under becomes your bird. Every day and every night, the five birds take turns through five activities, and their strength rises and falls in a fixed rhythm. When your bird is strong, your time is strong. The Siddhas called this science a golden key. CosmicSync computes that rhythm for you, every day.

No, it can never change. The classical rule is clear. Once your bird is decided from your birth star and your paksha, it remains your permanent stellar bird, in both halves of the Moon's cycle, for life. Your daily windows change with the sky. Rise and Flow are the two best windows of your day. Rise is the highest point. It is the time when the cosmos and you are in the strongest sync. In the Pancha Pakshi shastra, this is the time when your bird is Ruling. Your productivity will be high, and you will perform at your best. Use it wisely. Spend it on the decision, the call, and the thing you have been holding back on. Flow is the second best window. In the shastra, this is the time when your bird is Eating. It is the strongest stretch of your day after Rise. Save it for the deep task, the craft, and the thing you want to do well, not just fast.

CosmicSync needs a birth time to find the Moon's exact position. If you do not know it, use the best estimate you can find, such as a birth certificate, a hospital record, or a family member's memory. An estimate within an hour or two is usually fine. If the Moon was near the edge of a nakshatra at that time, small differences can matter. The closer your time is, the better.

Pancha Pakshi is a very old science, and it has come down through many schools. The schools do not all agree. Bird and element tables, activity names, and rules can differ from book to book and from app to app. CosmicSync refers to the classical texts and follows one consistent method from start to finish, checked against precise astronomical data. You can see everything for them that you can see for yourself. This includes their daily windows, their kundali, and every other astrological feature the app offers. As CosmicSync grows and new features are added, those features will work for your added profiles too.

Will the person I add know? Can they see my data?

No, they will not. The profiles you add live only inside your account. The person is not notified, and nothing connects to any account of theirs. No one you add can see anything of yours. Your privacy is protected by strong security measures. All data is encrypted, access is strictly controlled, and every profile's details stay private inside the account that created them. Protecting your data is one of our highest priorities.

Our list covers more than 50,000 cities around the world. If your city is missing, the app looks it up automatically as you type. If a very small village still does not come up, pick the nearest town. A few kilometres make no real difference to the calculation.

How do I correct my birth details?

You can edit your birth details up to five times, so please check them carefully before saving. Wrong details do not just shift your results a little. A wrong time or place can change your bird and your entire chart.
